Your photos stay yours. Kieps doesn’t upload them to its own servers and provides no remote access to them. No account, no ads, no analytics.

2. Photo library access and on-device analysis

With your device permission, Kieps reads photos you make available to the app, including thumbnails, creation dates, photo identifiers, and—where present—location metadata stored in a photo. Kieps uses this information on your device to group similar photos, display moments, create previews, remember reviewed groups, and carry out deletions you explicitly confirm.

Kieps does not upload your photos or its similarity analysis to its own servers. This processing stays on your device, and Kieps provides no means of remotely viewing, accessing, or retrieving your photo library.

Services you enable separately—such as iCloud Photos, system geocoding, or sharing through the system share sheet—are controlled by your operating system or chosen provider. For example, if a photo is stored in iCloud, Apple Photos may download it to your device under your Apple account settings.

3. Place labels from saved photo locations

If a photo contains coordinates, Kieps asks the operating system’s geocoding service to turn them into a readable place label. On Apple platforms this is Apple’s CLGeocoder service; on Android it is the device’s Android Geocoder service, which may be provided by Google or the device manufacturer.

The coordinates may be processed by that system service for the duration of the request. Kieps does not transmit them to its own servers. The resulting place label is cached only in memory while the app is running. Provider processing is governed by the privacy terms of your operating system and device provider.

4. Data stored on your device

Kieps stores app settings, onboarding status, filters, and identifiers of photo groups or photos you have already reviewed in the app’s private storage. This information stays on your device and can be reset in Kieps. It is removed when you uninstall the app, subject to your operating system’s backup and restore behavior.

5. Sharing and feedback

When you choose to share a collage or app link, Kieps passes the selected content to the system share sheet. You decide which recipient or external service receives it. Temporary collage files are created on the device for this purpose.

When you choose to send feedback, Kieps opens your email app with your message and basic app/device version information. Nothing is sent until you send the email. Feedback correspondence is processed to answer your request and is deleted when it is no longer needed, unless legal retention duties apply. You may request deletion at kieps@edley.de.

6. Permissions and legal basis

Photo and photo-location access depends on the permission you grant in iOS, macOS, or Android settings. You may limit or withdraw this permission at any time. Processing required to provide the app features you request is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; optional feedback is based on your action and, where applicable, consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

7. This website

This static privacy page is hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel may process technical request data such as IP address, time, requested page, and browser information to deliver and secure the site. No separate website analytics service is used, and no separate copy of these request data is retained. Vercel retains information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in its Privacy Notice, then deletes or anonymizes it unless longer retention is required by law. This processing is based on the controller’s legitimate interest in providing a secure privacy notice under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and may occur outside the European Economic Area using applicable safeguards.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Because Kieps keeps app data locally and has no app account, data stored on your device generally cannot be associated with an identifiable user or deleted remotely. You can reset Kieps data in the app or remove it by uninstalling the app.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

9. Changes

This notice will be updated when Kieps features or data practices materially change. The date above shows the current version.
